To configure a player as a removable drive follow the procedures below:
- Turn on your player, for example, ZEN Micro
- Press on the Menu/Back , select EXTRA, and then REMOVABLE DISK
- Press on the Options button in the player, and select "Set Capacity ", and select the preferred disk capacity, available options are 128 MB, 256 MB, 512 MB, 1GB, 1.5GB and 2GB).
- Connect the player to your PC. The player will display the "Removable Disk" icon, which indicates that the player is in "Mass Storage" mode.
- Click Start, All Programs, Accessories, and select Windows Explorer, or double click on MY COMPUTER in your desktop.
- Removable partition on the ZEN Micro should be detected as (E:\ , F:\, G:\ , etc.)
Note:
- If any of the options above are not on the main menu e.g. EXTRA.Tap on System, Player Settings , Options. Here you can turn on and off different menu options.
- Data files saved in the Removable Disk mode can not be viewed or managed with Creative MediaSource.
- Removable drives unable to playback or store subscription based media files. All media files which have been downloaded from the internet would be saved and played back from the memory in the player.
To transfer data files to the Removable partition:
- Drag and drop or copy and paste the files to the removable drive
- Once the transfer is complete, click on the Safely Remove Device icon at the task bar to stop the device
- Do not disconnect the device if displays " Do not Disconnect".
To change the player's mode from a "Mass Storage" mode to player("PDE") mode so you can organize the player via Creative MediaSource, ZEN Micro Explorer or Windows Media Player:
- Click on the Safely Remove Device Icon at the task bar to stop the device.
- When the LCD displays " Removable Disk", tap on the Back/Menu button to go to player mode.
